TradeWinds-LandFall  2008

A Flotilla of Fragility: The ‘planetary’ currents on the Atlantic Ocean can be seen as circular. The trade winds are part of a circulation of air, which starts with rising air in the tropics. This rising air is driven by the energy received from the Sun. For the tall ship of the European mariners the power of the ocean wave is directly related to the speed and duration of the winds it sets in motion and the distance from it's point of origin. The fragility of of the ceramic paper boats echoes the perilous journeys of all those beings carried through the Gulf Stream - TradeWinds to a new Landfall.
