Landscape Trauma 1 & 2

Landscape Trauma
A photo-based work that queries the illusionary nature of photography and the materiality of the medium by exploring ideas of chemistry, physics, the basic constituents of photography and control of energy. These images focus on the original elements of the earth, which form the fundamental substances of the photographic production. The large scale almost sculptural installation presents concepts of size, from the macro to the micro.

Digital prints on stretched synthetic canvas.  4 - 31x252cm (10 x 8 ft)

Part of the Autograph exhibition 'Landscape Trauma in the Age of Scopophilia'. 2001 curated by Richard Hylton. http://www.autograph-abp-shop.co.uk/books/landscape-trauma-in-the-age-of-scopophilia
