Hidden histories, Heritage stories  1999 - selected installations

The specificity of site, presentation and photographic history inform the installation about Lea Valley National Park. Examining the way a History is constructed and developed within a working landscape. The landscape of Lea Valley Park  has for the last 5oo years contained the contrasting identity of an industrial, rural, scientific and leisure site. ‘Central, South, North’, is an artists book containing portraits of the Park Rangers that manage the Park, and detailed images of  the landscapes they work. The presentation echoes the family album, scientific illustration and documentary photography. The individually toned and hand tinted evokes a sense of the individual, the nostalgic, the precious.

Photographic Artist book. - 2 - 11x14  20 pages, tinted black & white photographs, text block printed on Japanese paper, cloth cover.
