'Deep Down Body Thirst', curated by Radclyffe Hall for Glasgow International
19 April - 7 May 2018
Deep Down Body Thirst was an exhibition developed by Radclyffe Hall for Glasgow International, which examined the contemporary resonances of these historical communities by drawing on photographic and archival ephemera. Pollard's work was featured alongside other British photographers including Jill Posener and Tessa Boffin.
Much of the material that will be included in Deep Down Body Thirst has not been seen or circulated since it was produced. Returning to this work at present, with the aim of addressing the absence of lesbian in recent accounts of both feminist and queer art, the exhibition will consider the legacies of lesbian visual culture in contemporary art and activism including important intersections with the work of trans artists, fat activists and sex workers.
